Östersund signs Logan Nijhoff to one-year contract

Östersund has completed its roster with the signing of Canadian forward Logan Nijhoff. The 25-year-old joins the club on a one-year deal.

Östersund announced the addition of Nijhoff as its final piece in the summer squad building. The move comes after the player split last season between the ECHL and Slovakia.

Nijhoff recorded seven points in 16 games with Trois-Rivières in the ECHL before moving to Slovan Bratislava, where he added seven points in 17 games as the team reached the league final. In the prior season he tallied 49 points in 58 ECHL games and won the Kelly Cup.

Östersund's sportchef Rasmus Aro highlighted Nijhoff's skating strength and energy. Aro noted the forward's ability to win puck battles and his experience in championship finals as assets for the team.
