Parade of 832 Honda cars sets Guinness record

A parade of 832 Honda Motor Co sports cars in central Japan has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the largest parade of cars made by the Japanese automaker. The event at Suzuka Circuit in Mie Prefecture on Saturday commemorated the 10th anniversary of the S660 two-seat convertible sports minicar's launch. Production of the car ended in 2022.

Honda announced on Monday that the parade has been recognized by Guinness World Records. The event was hosted by a group of S660 owners, with Honda employees involved in the vehicle's development and production also participating.

The S660, a two-seat convertible sports minicar launched in 2015, was developed to pursue the joy of driving. In a statement, Honda said: "The S660 was developed to pursue the joy of driving and is still loved by many fans. It continues to be cherished and driven nationwide to this day."

The previous Guinness record for a Honda car parade was set in 2010 with 569 units of the Beat two-seat convertible sports minicar, which launched in 1991 and was manufactured until 1996.

The event highlighted the enduring popularity of the S660, even after production ended in 2022. Suzuka Circuit, known as Honda's home track, served as a fitting venue for automotive enthusiasts.
