Twenty-year-old defenseman Patrik Jernfalk has signed a development contract with AIK after a strong U20 season. Just one year after playing Division 2 hockey, the 189-centimeter player earned a spot following his debut in HockeyAllsvenskan.
Jernfalk, who previously played for clubs including Flemingsberg, Mora, and Nacka, impressed coaches last season. He led in production among U20 defensemen and received opportunities with the senior team.
Johan Andersson, who coached him in the U20 squad, highlighted his potential. "Patrik has an enormous potential," Andersson said.
AIK sports chief Lasse Johansson confirmed the signing. "Patrik is a young, skilled defenseman with great development potential," Johansson said. Jernfalk will wear number 28 and can play for both the men's team and U20 side under league rules.
Jernfalk described the move as a lifelong dream. "Playing at Hovet in front of our supporters has been my dream since day one," he said.
