President Prabowo Subianto conveyed congratulations to Buddhists marking Waisak 2570 BE. The message was delivered via video at the peak commemoration event in Jakarta on Sunday.
In his message, Prabowo highlighted the theme of Dharma as the Source of Moral and Wisdom and Love as the Source of World Peace. He called on all elements of the nation to strengthen brotherhood, spread goodness, and maintain harmony.
The president also noted that Indonesia is a great nation due to its diversity of ethnicities, religions, and cultures. All citizens are united by the shared ideal of building a peaceful, just, prosperous, and welfare country.
Prabowo added that the values of compassion, tolerance, and wisdom from Buddha's teachings will strengthen the nation's character. He expressed hope that the spirit of Waisak will continue to illuminate Indonesia's harmonious development path.
