Rasmus Andersson signs seven-year contract with Vegas Golden Knights

Swedish defenseman Rasmus Andersson has agreed to a new seven-year deal with the Vegas Golden Knights worth 59.5 million dollars.

The contract carries an annual average value of 8.5 million dollars and will keep the 29-year-old under contract through the 2032/33 season. Andersson was traded from the Calgary Flames to Vegas in January and helped the team reach the Stanley Cup final.

In the 2025/26 season he recorded 47 points in 81 games while averaging more than 23 minutes of ice time per game. He added six assists during the playoffs.

The signing puts Vegas approximately 5.1 million dollars over the NHL salary cap. The team is expected to make further roster adjustments this summer to comply with the cap before the next season begins.
