Shinedown to announce new album details in January

Shinedown's drummer Barry Kerch has revealed that the band will disclose full details of their upcoming album this month. The announcement follows the success of recent singles and builds on their storied career in rock music. Fans can expect the album title and release date to be revealed soon.

Shinedown, the hard rock band from Jacksonville, Florida, is gearing up for a major reveal. Formed in early 2002 by Brent Smith, Jasin Todd, Brad Stewart, and Barry Kerch, the group has built an impressive legacy with seven albums on Atlantic Records. Their releases include Leave a Whisper (2003), Us and Them (2005), The Sound of Madness (2008), Amaryllis (2012), Threat to Survival (2015), Attention Attention (2018), and Planet Zero (2022).

In a recent interview on The Mistress Carrie Podcast, as reported by Blabbermouth, drummer Barry Kerch shared an update on the band's follow-up to Planet Zero. "I know the announcement’s coming out this month. This month, the announcement will be made, and the album title, everything will be out there, and a date for the release will be out there this month," Kerch stated.

The timing aligns with Shinedown's strong momentum. In 2025, the single "Three Six Five" achieved No. 1 on the Alternative chart, Top 10 on Hot AC and AC, and Top 20 on Top 40. The band followed with "Dance, Kid, Dance" and "Killing Fields," both reaching No. 1. Shinedown holds records for the most No. 1 songs on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart (21) and Mediabase Active Rock chart (23), along with the most Top 5s and Top 10s in those charts' histories. As of 2018, they had 23 Top 5 hits on Mainstream Rock radio, including 12 No. 1s and a Top 10 Hot 100 single with "Second Chance."

Their debut Leave a Whisper, released on July 13, 2003, featured singles "Fly From The Inside" and "45." A re-release on June 15, 2004, included a cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s "Simple Man," often dedicated to Dimebag Darrell. The album went gold on September 21, 2005, and a live DVD, Live From The Inside, followed on August 23, 2005, capturing a show at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. In 2004, Shinedown opened for Van Halen, marking an early milestone.
