Six dogs found dead inside trash bags in Novo Gama

A resident found at least six dogs discarded irregularly in a wooded area in the Alvorada neighborhood of Novo Gama. Hospital equipment was also located at the site.

On Thursday afternoon, May 21, a resident of Novo Gama in Goiás discovered the animals' bodies inside trash bags in a wooded area in the Alvorada neighborhood.

Along with the dogs, bloodied surgical gloves, gauze and containers with biological material were found. The resident suspects the animals came from a veterinary clinic that failed to perform the promised cremation.

Irregular disposal of dead animals is considered an environmental crime under Law 9.605/98, which provides for fines and imprisonment. Goiás Civil Police was contacted but has not yet commented on the case.
