A 25-year-old driver skidded onto the oncoming lane due to ice in a curve in Simmersfeld on Friday evening, colliding head-on with another vehicle. Two following cars were also involved, but a 34-year-old driver managed to stop in time. Police reported no injuries.
Police in Landkreis Calw reported that the accident occurred on the B294 in Simmersfeld. The 25-year-old driver lost control due to slippery conditions in a curve and veered into the oncoming lane. There, he collided head-on with an oncoming car. Two following vehicles were also caught up in the crash, though a 34-year-old driver stopped in time. No one was injured. Recovery efforts for the four involved vehicles were extensive, requiring a full closure of the B294 until after midnight.
