'With Movendi Sverige, we get a common identity that encompasses our entire movement. We build on the best from our three organizations with a clear direction forward. We want to show that sobriety is not a limitation, but a way to live freely,' says Kristina Sperkova, the prospective new chairperson, in a press release.
IOGT-NTO, Sweden's largest sobriety organization, was formed in 1970. It is non-partisan and non-religious, working for a society free from alcohol and other drugs. The new name will be adopted gradually, and the merger aims to strengthen the movement's unity and future.
