The San Antonio Spurs were scheduled to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals on Monday night without star guard De'Aaron Fox. Fox was ruled out with right ankle soreness ahead of the matchup at Paycom Center.
The Spurs entered the series after eliminating the Minnesota Timberwolves in six games on Friday. Oklahoma City advanced by sweeping the Los Angeles Lakers. Fox averaged 18.8 points and 5.8 assists across 11 playoff games before the injury setback. The team planned to rely more on Stephon Castle and Dylan Harper in the backcourt as a result.
