Vladislav Kolyachonok scored the go-ahead goal late in the third period as the Dallas Stars defeated the Seattle Kraken 3-2 on Wednesday. The victory extended Dallas' road point streak to 10 games and their current point streak to four. Roope Hintz and Esa Lindell also scored for the Stars, while Brandon Montour and Vince Dunn replied for Seattle.
The Dallas Stars wrapped up a four-game road trip with a hard-fought 3-2 win over the Seattle Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena. Facing a stingy Seattle defense, Dallas relied on timely scoring to secure the victory.
Roope Hintz opened the scoring at 5:52 of the first period, tipping a shot-pass from Alexander Petrovic through goalie Joey Daccord's five-hole for his third straight game goal. Brandon Montour tied it at 9:06, banking a sharp-angle shot off Casey DeSmith's pad after retrieving a rebound from Shane Wright.
In the second period, Esa Lindell put Dallas back ahead 2-1 at 6:13. He capitalized on a rebound from his initial shot, lifting it over Daccord from close range. Lindell played a team-high 28 minutes and was praised by coach Glen Gulutzan as a 'monster' on defense.
Vince Dunn evened the score just 18 seconds into the third, snapping a shot over DeSmith's glove during a rush. But Kolyachonok, acquired from Pittsburgh in the offseason, broke the tie at 14:16 with a wrist shot from the left circle that deflected off the post. It was his first goal with Dallas. 'I just tried to use their guy as a screen and get it through,' Kolyachonok said.
DeSmith made 26 saves for the win, while Daccord stopped 18 shots. Seattle went 0-for-5 on the power play, with coach Lane Lambert noting struggles in zone entries against Dallas' big defense.
Jaden Schwartz left in the second with a lower-body injury, with no immediate update. Jason Robertson's seven-game goal streak ended, but the Stars improved to 15-5-4 and have now won eight straight against Seattle.
