Pittsburgh Steelers second-round pick Germie Bernard is projected to make a solid impact as a rookie wide receiver. CBSSports.com ranks him ninth out of 36 wide receivers selected in the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Steelers selected Bernard in the second round as the eighth wide receiver taken overall. He follows Carnell Tate, who went fourth overall to the Tennessee Titans, while the Indianapolis Colts picked Deion Burks in the seventh round.
CBSSports.com projects Bernard to record 42 catches for 506 yards and three touchdowns in his first season. Analyst Josh Edwards praised Bernard's route running against zone coverage and his willingness to contribute in the run game.
Edwards compared Bernard to former Green Bay Packers receiver Randall Cobb for his football intelligence. Former NFL player Steve Smith Sr. also noted similarities in how the Steelers built their receiving group around veterans DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr.
Other rookies on the list include Jordyn Tyson of the New Orleans Saints, who is projected to have the biggest impact, along with Cleveland Browns selections KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston.
