Spain's Supreme Court has rejected Real Madrid's appeal against a ruling by the Madrid High Court on events at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium. The case now returns to a lower court to examine the core issue.
Spain's Supreme Court on Wednesday rejected Real Madrid's appeal number 1159/2026. The First Section of the Administrative Litigation Chamber found the appeal lacked sufficient grounds and objective cassational interest. The Asociación Vecinal de Perjudicados por el Bernabéu had asked Madrid City Council to clarify whether the stadium's licenses allow concerts. The case now returns to the Administrative Court No. 31 of Madrid, which must decide on the presumed rejection of the query. Real Madrid stated in a release that the ruling concerns only a procedural matter and that no court has declared the concerts contrary to regulations. The club noted that events follow the same rules as other venues like the Metropolitano. The residents' association welcomed the decision and said important questions remain about the stadium's urban planning classification.
