Tanishaa Mukerji reflects on trauma bonding in Bigg Boss 7

Actor Tanishaa Mukerji discussed her time on Bigg Boss 7 in a recent interview, describing her participation as an unconscious decision and her relationship with Armaan Kohli as shaped by trauma bonding.

In an interview with Mamaraazzi published on 30 May 2026, Tanishaa Mukerji said her choice to join Bigg Boss 7 was not deliberate. She stated, “That was an unconscious decision,” and noted she had never watched the show beforehand after being advised against it.

Mukerji described the environment as one that fosters trauma bonding. She said, “Because these reality shows survive on trauma, it is trauma bonding,” adding that relationships formed there often feel different once participants leave the high-stress setting.

Mukerji and fellow contestant Armaan Kohli ended their relationship in 2014. She observed that the differences between them became clearer outside the show.

Psychologist Sakshi Mandhyan explained that trauma bonding arises when emotional distress alternates with reassurance, creating strong but sometimes temporary attachments.
