Teamfight Tactics revives Festival of Beasts for Lunar Revel 2026

Riot Games is bringing back the classic Festival of Beasts mode in Teamfight Tactics for Lunar Revel 2026. This limited-time revival includes the original Chosen mechanic, new augments, and exclusive Opening Encounters. Players can expect surprises whether it's their first or third time experiencing the mode.

Teamfight Tactics (TFT), the auto-battler mode within League of Legends, is set to celebrate Lunar Revel with the return of Revival: Festival of Beasts. Described as an all-time classic, this mode will be available for a limited time, offering fresh surprises for returning and new players alike.

The core mechanic, Chosen, allows special units to appear in every fourth shop. These units start at 2-star level upon purchase and grant +1 to one of their traits, but players must sell any existing copy to acquire them. Key rules include: Chosen units seen previously will feature a different +1 trait—for instance, passing on an Enlightened Talon means the next offer will be an Assassin Talon. Passed units won't reappear for a few rounds, and eligibility requires three copies remaining in the pool, with restrictions for 4-cost (max four copies) and 5-cost (max three copies) champions. Lower-cost units (1/2/3) have no such limits. Shared bag sizes are set at 50 for 1-cost, 40 for 2-cost, 30 for 3-cost, 12 for 4-cost, and 10 for 5-cost units.

Augments, introduced since the original set, return with fan favorites like Growing Roots, which boosts Elderwood units' maximum health based on rounds spent in their initial hex; The Fabled One, transforming Wukong into a Fabled unit with extra ability power and providing a 2-star Wukong; and Cult's Offerings, granting Galio permanent health for every gold above 40 during planning. Additional augments await discovery in-game.

Exclusive Opening Encounters include Carousel of Vitality for extra fast loot, Off To The Races to guess winners for rewards, Fireworks Show to collect fireworks for loot, Growing Prosperity for improving item anvils each stage, and Year of the Horse with a lucky horse delivering bench rewards.

The Revival Ladder offers prizes such as Realm Crystals, Treasure Tokens, and the Oracle and Visionary borders. Players are encouraged to team up and dive into the Convergence for this festive update.
