Tesla has introduced its most aggressive leasing promotion for the Model Y in the United States, featuring zero downpayment and a free premium upgrade. This move aims to lower the entry barrier for customers amid competitive pressures in the electric vehicle market. The deal applies to select Model Y variants and could save lessees thousands over the lease term.
Tesla rolled out a new leasing promotion for the Model Y on November 15, 2025, described as its most aggressive yet in the US market. According to industry watcher Sawyer Merritt, who first reported it on X, the deal allows customers to order the vehicle with a $0 downpayment, while monthly payments remain similar to previous offers.
Tesla community members have noted that this promotion reduces the total lease cost by several thousand dollars compared to standard terms. However, they pointed out that pricing was more favorable when the $7,500 federal tax credit was available. Despite this, the zero downpayment option significantly lowers the initial cost, making it easier for prospective buyers to enter the Tesla ecosystem.
In addition to the downpayment waiver, lessees receive one free premium upgrade. Options include premium paint colors such as Pearl White Multi-Coat, Deep Blue Metallic, Diamond Black, Quicksilver, or Ultra Red; 20″ Helix 2.0 Wheels; a White Interior; or a Tow Hitch.
The promotion is available for the Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive and Model Y Premium All-Wheel Drive models, as confirmed on Tesla's order page. It does not apply to the Model Y Standard or Model Y Performance variants. This initiative comes as Tesla seeks to boost sales following the end of the federal EV tax credit, providing an attractive entry point for new customers.
