The Oklahoma City Thunder have locked in second-year guard Ajay Mitchell on a three-year contract worth nine million dollars. Mitchell has emerged as a key contributor during the team's playoff run, matching the production of reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander through the first three games.
Mitchell, selected 38th overall in the 2024 draft, signed the deal after converting from a two-way contract. The agreement includes a team option and provides financial security while allowing Oklahoma City to maintain flexibility under salary cap rules. He averaged 16.5 minutes per game in 34 regular-season appearances before a toe injury in January 2025 sidelined him for most of the remainder of that season and limited his playoff minutes to spot appearances.
