Tren Suburbano raises fares starting April 5, 2026

The Tren Suburbano, linking Mexico City to State of Mexico municipalities, will raise fares starting this Sunday, April 5, according to the concessionaire's social media announcement. Short trips will cost 11.50 pesos, up 50 centavos, and long trips 26.50 pesos.

The Tren Suburbano will apply the fare hike at all stations, keeping the distance-based pricing: short trips from 0 to 12.89 kilometers and long from 12.9 to 25.59 kilometers. This service, running from Buenavista to Cuautitlán over about 27 kilometers, serves thousands daily in the Mexico Valley.

The increase follows the system's annual pattern. In April 2025, fares rose: short from 10.50 to 11 pesos, long from 24.50 to 25.50 pesos, and access card from 16 to 18 pesos.

The concessionaire stated the adjustment was authorized by the Agencia Reguladora de Transporte Ferroviario, under the Secretaría de Infraestructura, Comunicaciones y Transportes, and published in the Diario Oficial de la Federación, as per the concession title.
