United States President Donald Trump described Iran's conditions to end the Middle East conflict as totally unacceptable. Iran's response was conveyed through a Pakistani mediator on Sunday.
Trump wrote on his Truth Social network that he had read the response from Iranian representatives and did not like it, calling it “totally unacceptable”. He accused Iran of laughing at the United States and promised that this would not continue.
Iran had responded to Washington’s peace proposal by warning that it would not hold back from new American attacks and would not allow more foreign warships in the Strait of Hormuz. The official Irna agency reported that the response focuses on ending the war and maritime security in the Gulf.
The ceasefire implemented on April 8 is now more than a month old with no concrete advances toward a lasting solution. The conflict, started by the February 28 attack by Israel and the United States on Iran, has already left thousands dead, mainly in Iran and Lebanon.
Netanyahu stated that the war has not ended and that enriched uranium must be removed and nuclear facilities dismantled in Iran. Meanwhile, drone attacks hit targets in the Gulf on Sunday, including a cargo ship near Qatar.
