Two women arrested for drug sales in Neiva neighborhood

Neiva's Metropolitan Police captured two women, aged 26 and 46, in the act of selling narcotics in the Santa Isabel neighborhood. The operation stemmed from a community complaint and intelligence work. Authorities seized cocaine and cash.

A community complaint in the Santa Isabel neighborhood, Comuna Seis of Neiva, Huila's capital, alerted the Metropolitan Police to illicit activities in a residence. SIJIN units from the Criminal Investigation Section responded swiftly, capturing two women aged 26 and 46 in flagrante delicto on November 4, 2025.

During the search and raid, investigators found 83 graph paper wrappers containing 9 grams of cocaine hydrochloride, along with 524,000 pesos in cash in various bills and coins, allegedly proceeds from alkaloid sales. The women were known in the area for their alleged involvement in distributing personal doses of drugs, disrupting residents' peace and security.

The operation relied on intelligence and surveillance efforts that gathered key information on consumer movements and illicit transactions inside the property. With sufficient evidence, the Prosecutor's Office issued the warrant for the raid, which ended successfully.

Both women have prior judicial records for drug trafficking, manufacturing, or possession. They were handed over to the Prosecutor's Office, which will present them before a guarantees control judge to determine their legal status. This police action underscores the value of community collaboration in combating micro-trafficking in residential areas.
