Karol Tatiana Marín Olarte and José Armando Trujillo Náñez were killed in separate incidents at pool halls in Hobo, apparently by the same hitman on a motorcycle. The attacks took place around midnight on the previous Friday, wounding a third person and spreading fear in the community. The local mayor clarified that the victims were just friends.
The killings took place at two pool halls in Hobo municipality, Huila department. Karol Tatiana Marín Olarte, 20, was attacked at the 'La Oficina' pool hall in the eastern high area of the town. The hitman, wearing a dark jacket and black helmet, arrived on a motorcycle and fired multiple shots without warning, also wounding a man.
Shortly after, the same individual went to the 'El Tesoro' pool hall, where José Armando Trujillo Náñez, 24, was shot in the head. "Apparently, the same killers who committed the act at the first pool hall moved to the other where the young man was and killed him too," said Yhon Alber Mora Lizcano, mayor of Hobo.
The mayor stressed that the victims were friends, not a couple, and had no known prior threats. "Everything is under investigation; they haven't determined yet if the youths had links to issues that led to this," he added. These are the first hitman-style killings in Hobo in 2026.
Huila Police are investigating to identify those responsible. On social media, friends and acquaintances expressed grief and rejected the violence.
