Valencia Basket wins fourth consecutive women's league title

Valencia Basket defeated Casademont Zaragoza 68-67 on Sunday at the Roig Arena to claim its fourth straight Spanish women's league title.

The team coached by Rubén Burgos sealed the championship with a decisive buzzer-beater by Ivon Anderson. The win in front of 7,647 spectators, a record attendance at the Roig Arena for a women's game, capped a strong week for the club after the men's team qualified for the Final Four.

Casademont Zaragoza, which won the regular season and finished third in the EuroLeague, led for much of the contest but lost the ball in the closing moments. Arnau Ferreres's players, with Ferreres filling in due to Carlos Cantero's paternity leave, appeared devastated at the end.

Queralt Casas and Cristina Ouviña lifted the trophy in a changing of the guard, as both legends depart the club this season along with Awa Fam, Leo Fiebich and Raquel Carrera. Rubén Burgos noted that his team has played in 15 finals in recent years and won 11 titles.
