Valentin Vacherot missed a match point and lost his Swiss Open quarterfinal to Raphael Collignon in Gstaad.
The Monegasque held a 5-4 lead in the deciding set and served for the match. His second serve at 139 miles per hour landed out, producing a double fault that handed Collignon the break.
Collignon went on to win the match 7-6, 4-6, 7-5. Vacherot had taken the second set after dropping the opener in a tiebreak.
The loss adds to a difficult stretch for the 27-year-old, who is dealing with a foot injury and has slipped from a career-high ranking of No. 16 to No. 21.
