Max Brosmer, an undrafted rookie starting in place of the concussed J.J. McCarthy and the injured Carson Wentz, completed 19 of 30 passes for 126 yards but threw four interceptions and took four sacks, posting a 32.8 passer rating—the lowest by a Vikings starter since 2001. The Vikings managed just 162 total yards and turned the ball over five times, leading the NFL with 26 giveaways this season.
Key turnovers defined the game. After Dallas Turner's strip-sack on Sam Darnold and Jalen Redmond's recovery at the Seattle 22-yard line, Brosmer's fourth-and-1 pass was intercepted by Ernest Jones IV, who returned it 84 yards for a touchdown, making it 10-0.
