Vimmerby signs center Hampus Karlsson from Oskarshamn

Vimmerby has signed 25-year-old center Hampus Karlsson from rival club Oskarshamn ahead of the upcoming HockeyAllsvenskan season.

The move strengthens Vimmerby's center depth. Karlsson spent the past three seasons with Oskarshamn and recorded 13 points in 51 games last season while also appearing in three SHL matches on loan with HV71.

Sportchef Pelle Johansson said the club knows Karlsson well and values his physical play and competitiveness. Johansson noted that Karlsson can contribute in multiple situations and help create balance in the roster.

Karlsson will reunite with head coach Eric Karlsson, who previously coached him in Karlskrona. Johansson added that the player brings a strong desire to help build the team.
