Yeidep postpones business grants disbursement and warns fraudsters

The Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalization Programme (YEIDEP) has delayed the disbursement of business grants to Batch A applicants due to complexities in the process. Coordinator-General Comrade Kennedy Iyere issued warnings against fake news spread by internet fraudsters on social media. The programme reaffirmed that all benefits are free and announced the reopening of registration for Batch B.

The Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalization Programme (YEIDEP) announced on October 26, 2025, the postponement of business grants disbursement originally set to begin on October 20, 2025, for Batch A applicants. Speaking in Lagos over the weekend, YEIDEP's Coordinator-General, Comrade Kennedy Iyere, explained that the delay stems from complexities involved in ensuring a transparent, accountable, and accurate process.

Iyere cautioned applicants to disregard fake news circulating on social media platforms that falsely claim the disbursement has started. He highlighted that internet fraudsters are spreading this misinformation to extort money from unsuspecting individuals. "We warn and caution all our registered applicants and potential beneficiaries to ignore the fake news which have flooded different social media platforms, falsely reporting that YEIDEP’s business grants disbursement has taken effect," Iyere stated.

The programme emphasized that every benefit or gain related to YEIDEP is offered free of charge. "Please be conscious not to allow anyone to deceive you. Every benefit or gain relating to YEIDEP is offered free of charge. We therefore advise everyone to be well guided and smart enough to ignore criminal elements who may want to extort money from the public by peddling fake news to aid their criminal ambitions," he added.

A new date for the funds disbursement will be announced through various media platforms once the process is finalized. Meanwhile, YEIDEP revealed that the registration portal will reopen on October 27, 2025, for Batch B recruitment. "We are also delighted to announce to the general public via this medium that the registration portal will be re-opened on Monday, 27th October 2025, for the ‘Batch B’ recruitment," Iyere said. The programme expressed commitment to ensuring every registered member receives their entitled benefits, with further updates via YouTube, Facebook, and other digital channels.
