YSRCP leader clarifies remarks not directed at women

YSRCP leader Gudivada Amarnath stated on Wednesday that his comments about Home Minister V. Anitha were not aimed at women broadly. He accused the TDP of running a misinformation campaign against him.

Gudivada Amarnath, YSRCP Anakapalli district president, defended his recent statements. He said the remarks targeted only the language used by Anitha against Y.S. Vijayamma and Y.S. Bharathi. Amarnath noted he had responded to two years of personal attacks on YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and party members.

Amarnath alleged that TDP leaders conducted a planned misinformation effort over recent days. He added that YSRCP workers face harassment through false cases. The leader said he stands by his words and is prepared to address complaints at state, national, or international levels.

Amarnath maintained he has never used indecent language against women. He claimed the TDP raises women's issues selectively while ignoring similar remarks from its own ranks. He also pointed to worsening law and order and rising crimes against women in the state.
