ZEE5 removes Diljit Dosanjh film Satluj from India

ZEE5 has pulled the Diljit Dosanjh film Satluj from its Indian catalogue less than two days after its July 3 premiere. The platform said the movie will be unavailable in India until further notice but remains accessible on ZEE5 Global outside the country. No reason was given for the decision.

The streaming service issued a statement on Instagram expressing gratitude for viewer support while confirming the removal. It pledged to explore options through due process to restore access soon.

Satluj, directed by Honey Trehan, stars Diljit Dosanjh as human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. The drama follows Khalra's efforts to seek justice for disappearances during Punjab's insurgency period.

The project faced earlier hurdles with India's censor board before its global streaming debut on July 3. It was released in full without cuts after previous title changes and certification disputes.

ZEE5 added that the conversation sparked by the film continues despite the pause in India.
