Deputy Carolina Marzán announced her resignation from the Party for Democracy (PPD) one day after failing to secure a Senate seat for the Valparaíso Region. In a letter to the Electoral Service (Servel), the lawmaker criticized the disconnection of the political class and the scant support from the national leadership for her candidacy. Marzán, who received nearly 85,000 votes, plans to continue contributing as an independent.
