A white dinner gathers several hundred people under the Eiffel Tower

On Thursday evening, several hundred guests dressed in white set up tables under the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The event follows a tradition dating back thirty years.

An AFP photographer observed the diners. It was not possible to identify the organizers immediately.

This type of gathering is organized regularly in emblematic locations in the capital. The venue remains secret until the last minute and guests bring their own white tablecloths.

The concept was created in 1988 by François Pasquier. It has been exported to about a hundred cities worldwide. In 2018, one such dinner gathered 17,000 participants in Paris.
