The International Padel Federation (FIP) has brought its Bronze-level tournament to Morocco for the first time, starting in the coastal city of Agadir. According to Morocco's Press Agency (MAP), the competition began on February 19, 2026, though the full event spans February 18 to 22. This marks Morocco as one of 17 new countries added to the 2026 calendar of the expanding Cupra FIP Tour.
Approximately 30 teams are participating, representing 11 nations: Spain, Denmark, France, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Italy, Argentina, Tunisia, Poland, Sweden, and Morocco. The field includes high-level players ranked among the top 100 worldwide, alongside some of Morocco's leading padel athletes. Competitors are vying for qualification into the main draw of the 2026 Cupra FIP Tour.
The tournament is sponsored by the Royal Moroccan Tennis Federation (FRMT) and the FIP, and takes place at the Royal Padel Agadir venue. Following this inaugural event, the Cupra FIP Tour will visit three more Moroccan cities: Marrakech, Casablanca, and Kenitra.
This expansion highlights the growing global reach of padel, a sport gaining popularity beyond its traditional strongholds in Europe and South America.
