Anthrax announces first album in 10 years

Anthrax has revealed its first studio album in a decade, titled Cursum Perficio, along with the release of a new single called It's For The Kids. The record marks the band's 12th studio effort and arrives via Megaforce Records.

The thrash metal band last released a full-length album in 2016 with For All Kings. The new LP is scheduled for release on September 18. Guitarist Scott Ian described the lead single as a four-minute track that returns to the group's aggressive early style, featuring riffs from himself and Jonathan Donais along with vocals from Joey Belladonna. He noted that a friend called the song a love letter to fans and said it captures the best elements of Anthrax in an angry package. The accompanying video draws thematic inspiration from the band's classic Madhouse clip.
