Atlas Ocean Voyages announces luxury sailing yacht for 2028

Atlas Ocean Voyages has unveiled plans for its first luxury expedition sailing yacht, the Atlas Adventurer, set to launch in late 2028. The 26,000-gross-tonne vessel will accommodate up to 400 guests and feature hybrid propulsion with solid sails for enhanced sustainability. It will sail itineraries across Asia and Africa, expanding the company's warm-water expedition offerings.

Atlas Ocean Voyages, a US subsidiary of Mystic Invest Holding that operates under the Portuguese flag, announced the Atlas Adventurer on February 24, 2026. This marks the company's entry into sailing yachts, building on its existing fleet of three expedition vessels: World Navigator, World Traveller, and World Voyager, each designed for up to 198 guests in polar and remote regions.

The Atlas Adventurer will measure 690 feet in length, with capacity for 400 guests served by 275 crew members. Key innovations include a hybrid propulsion system combining fuel and alternative energy sources, dual-fuel engines, and solid sails to harness wind power, aiming to reduce emissions and fuel consumption amid industry-wide environmental pressures. President and CEO James A. Rodriguez described it as "the next evolution of the fleet," emphasizing nimble design for accessing restricted ports and a focus on sustainability, efficiency, and comfort.

Onboard amenities will feature all-suite accommodations for more space and upgraded facilities. Guests can expect seven dining venues, including a culinary studio for hands-on cooking sessions tied to destinations. There will be five lounges, two outdoor bars, an enlarged fitness and wellness center with a large swimming pool, and expedition tools like Zodiacs, luxury motorboats, kayaks, and a marina platform with an ocean pool for direct sea access.

From late 2028, the yacht will operate voyages in Asia—visiting Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines—and Africa, including Seychelles, Madagascar, Tanzania, Kenya, Mozambique, and South Africa. These routes target biodiversity-rich and culturally significant areas. Full itineraries for November 2028 through March 2029 voyages are slated for release in June 2026, with early booking incentives offering up to 15% savings and air credits up to £1,200.

Rodriguez highlighted the company's purpose: "to redefine luxury expedition cruising for the modern explorer," combining immersive experiences with personalized service. The line has built a 25% repeat-guest rate and strong partnerships since launching in 2021.
