Beryl McCain, the wife of the late trainer Ginger McCain, died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 88 on Saturday morning. The news came on the same day her son Donald recorded his 250th course winner at Bangor-on-Dee.
A minute’s silence was held at Bangor-on-Dee on Saturday in memory of Beryl McCain. Donald McCain fielded six runners at the track that afternoon. Harry Cobden rode Grain d’Oudairies to victory by one length in the Grand Wynnstay Handicap Chase, securing the milestone win for the yard.
