Bojan Hodak requests Super League schedule adjustment for Persib

Persib Bandung coach Bojan Hodak urges the league operator to adjust the Super League 2025/2026 schedule to support the team's preparation for the AFC Champions League Two round of 16. This request arises from potential tight scheduling that could hinder Maung Bandung's performance. Hodak is optimistic about facing Thailand's Ratchaburi FC.

Persib Bandung coach Bojan Hodak has requested PT I.League, the Indonesian League operator, to adjust the Super League 2025/2026 match schedule. This is to support the team's preparation for the round of 16 in the AFC Champions League Two (ACL Two) 2025/26.

Hodak explained that Persib could face a tight schedule, with three matches in two weeks. "We are focusing on requesting a rescheduling in the league, because there is a period where we have to play three matches in two weeks," Hodak said in Bandung on Friday (3/1/2026), quoted from Antara.

The Croatian coach welcomes the optimistic draw for the ACL Two round of 16, pitting Persib against Thailand's Ratchaburi FC. The official draw was held by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Tuesday (30/12/2025). As Group G winners, Persib will play the away leg first at Na Muang Stadium on February 11, 2026, followed by the second leg a week later in Bandung.

"If this adjustment can be made, I believe our chances of advancing to the next round are very open," Hodak stated. He views Persib's experience in Thailand, including preseason training camps and a win over Bangkok United in the group stage, as valuable assets. Support from Bobotoh fans at GBLA Stadium is also expected to be a key factor in the home match.

"I see Ratchaburi as a team we can face and challenge. We are also advantaged because the second leg is played at GBLA Stadium. If the stadium is full, as I often say, the situation will certainly not be easy for the away team," Hodak added.

The schedule adjustment is considered crucial for Persib to perform maximally in the Asian competition while maintaining domestic league form.
