CPCL records highest-ever crude throughput in FY 2026

The Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd. achieved a record crude throughput of 11.71 million tonnes in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026, reaching 112% capacity utilisation.

The company credited sustained operational excellence at its Manali refinery for the achievement. Despite planned maintenance stoppages, the three units operated smoothly and maintained high utilisation rates throughout the year.

The oldest crude unit posted its best performance to date even after a turnaround. Secondary processing units, including the hydrocracker and fluid catalytic cracker, also showed improved capacity realisation after better control of pressure and temperature parameters.

Distillate yield remained at record levels, with valuable products such as petrol, diesel, kerosene and ATF rising to about 80% of output. The company benefited from access to more than 160 crude varieties through its parent, Indian Oil.
