The Delhi Development Authority has introduced a standard operating procedure requiring demolition of unauthorised constructions within 72 hours of detection.
The Delhi Development Authority announced on Sunday that it has finalised the SOP at a meeting of its advisory council chaired by Lieutenant-Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu. The directive calls for a strict zero-tolerance approach to unauthorised constructions on DDA and government land.
Fourteen flying squad teams will conduct field inspections using geo-tagged photographs and the Vacant Land Monitoring System. Reports must be submitted for immediate enforcement action.
Four quick response teams will carry out demolitions after legal procedures are completed. They are required to submit reports with before-and-after photographs on the same day and install DDA ownership boards at cleared sites.
