Dombivli boy secures third rank in CA final exams

Sohan Manjarekar achieved national third rank in the CA final examination declared by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Out of 23,776 candidates, 3,345 passed with a 14.07 percent success rate.

Sohan Manjarekar from Dombivli secured the third position nationwide. He had aimed for a top ten rank and expressed delight at exceeding expectations.

His path into commerce began after modest Class 12 results prevented admission to a science program. He joined Mulund College of Commerce and pursued chartered accountancy to fulfill his father's unachieved dream.

Manjarekar cleared all three ICAI levels on his first attempt. He earned an all-India rank of six at the intermediate stage, completed a two-year articleship at Deloitte, and studied full time for nine months before the finals.

Following the result, he plans to seek employment rather than start independent practice immediately, citing the need for initial capital and greater security in a salaried role.
