Epstein files uncover Woody Allen and Soon-Yi Previn's emails

Newly released Epstein files have revealed private emails between Soon-Yi Previn, wife of Woody Allen, and Jeffrey Epstein, highlighting their personal interactions and favors sought. The communications touch on family matters, current events, and Hollywood figures. Representatives for Allen and Previn have not commented on the disclosures.

The U.S. Department of Justice documents, part of the Epstein files, include numerous emails from Soon-Yi Previn to Jeffrey Epstein, the late convicted sex offender. These exchanges suggest a close relationship, with Previn writing on behalf of herself and her husband Woody Allen from a personal email account.

In a 2017 email, Previn thanked Epstein for assisting their daughter Bechet Allen in gaining admission to Bard College through Epstein's connection to school president Leon Botstein. "I think it’s best that Bechet struggles and doesn’t know ahead of time that she got in so that when she gets into Bard she will have sweated it out a bit and will really want to go. Thank you for coming through for us," Previn wrote. "I can’t tell you how much this means to me. Woody said when Bechet sets fire to the school they’ll have you to thank."

Bard College's spokesperson for Botstein stated that Epstein was "a serial liar who apparently took credit for the sun rising each day." They emphasized that Bechet Allen, who graduated in 2021, was admitted based on her qualifications, as is the case for about 40% of applicants annually.

Other emails from 2016 discuss the Anthony Weiner scandal, where Previn commented on the case involving Weiner's conviction for transferring obscene material to a 15-year-old. "She knew exactly what she was doing and how vulnerable [Weiner] was, and she reeled him in like fish to bait," Previn wrote, questioning the minor's actions.

In 2018, Previn expressed satisfaction that Timothée Chalamet's film "A Rainy Day in New York," directed by Allen, received poor reviews. The Amazon production was shelved amid #MeToo scrutiny and renewed focus on Allen's past abuse allegations by daughter Dylan Farrow. Previn added, "No I’m not vindictive," regarding Chalamet, who was then starring in "Beautiful Boy."

Woody Allen, known for avoiding technology, did not respond to requests for comment, nor did Previn.

These writers, known for books on topics like behavioral economics, longevity, and physics, appear frequently in the documents.
