Karla Gómez confirmed on July 10 that her family will receive an apartment in Mexico City following arrangements by President Claudia Sheinbaum.
During the July 10 morning press conference, Karla Gómez, owner of Pato Merlín, recounted that her family previously lived in a commercial premises on Vértiz and Arcos de Belén. She explained they did not mention their real situation for fear of losing the space.
Gómez detailed that on June 22, at Palacio Nacional, Sheinbaum asked what her family needed. The president later contacted Clara Brugada, head of Government of Mexico City, and Inti Muñoz Santini, head of the Housing Institute.
Both Sheinbaum and Gómez clarified that this is not a gift, as the family will pay the value of the new home through the INVI's Programa de Vivienda en Conjunto.
