Minister of Hajj and Umrah Mochamad Irfan Yusuf stated that as of April 25, 2026, 25,271 pilgrims from 65 batches have departed for Madinah since the 1447 Hijriah Hajj mission began on April 22. "There are 65 batches departed, totaling 25,271 Hajj participants," he said during a press conference in Tangerang. Of these, 22,184 from 57 batches have arrived, while eight batches remain airborne. Specifically, batch five from Jakarta Pondok Gede embarkation carried 389 pilgrims on Garuda Indonesia.
Saudi Ambassador to Indonesia Faisal Abdullah H. Amodi assured smooth operations and safety for Indonesian pilgrims, the world's largest group. "We affirm the important role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in providing services," he said. The Makkah Route initiative includes immigration, health, and baggage checks at departure airports.
Additionally, all 203,000 regular Indonesian Hajj pilgrims are housed in the Markaziyah area of Madinah near Masjid Nabawi, according to Zaenal Muttaqin, Head of Accommodation Section for PPIH Saudi Arabia. Fast track services have been expanded to Makassar.
