A 38-year-old Jacksonville man faces DUI manslaughter charges after allegedly crashing into another vehicle while driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. The May 2 incident killed 19-year-old Mark Fraley Jr.
Lawrence Donald was driving his Toyota Camry from a strip club toward a Waffle House when the crash occurred at an intersection in Jacksonville, Florida. Police said he had a blood-alcohol content of 0.083 along with methamphetamine and MDMA in his system.
According to the arrest report, Donald rear-ended Fraley's Toyota Solara, which was stopped at a red light, with enough force to push it into a utility pole. Fraley was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators found no evidence that Donald attempted to brake before impact.
Donald was arrested on July 3 and charged with DUI and DUI manslaughter. He remains in custody at the John E. Goode Pre-Trial Detention Facility on $160,006 bail. His next court date is scheduled for July 27.
