Moon Hee Jun and Soyul have revealed that their daughter Hee Yul will begin training this year to pursue a career as a K-Pop idol.
The former H.O.T member and former Crayon Pop member shared the update on their YouTube channel while answering fan questions. Moon explained that nine-year-old Hee Yul expressed interest in auditioning, prompting the couple to accelerate academy plans that were originally set for a few years later.
Moon noted that Hee Yul will only audition after reaching a professional training level. He recalled his own trainee experience of practicing twelve hours daily and warned that she may miss typical childhood activities such as pajama parties.
Korean fans reacted positively online, praising the child's looks and expressions. Some international fans raised concerns about the demands of the industry on such a young child.
