Goaltender Philipp Grubauer voiced criticism after the match regarding the decision and the coach. Defender Leon Gawanke remained optimistic and highlighted the solid performance as a foundation for upcoming tasks.
The team currently sits second to last in Group A. Wins in the remaining group games against Hungary, Austria and Great Britain could secure a spot in the knockout round. The next match is scheduled for Friday against Hungary.
