Zelda Mello, a Globo reporter for over 30 years, shared her retirement announcement on her social media on Monday (March 2). The professional, who worked on local and national telejornais in São Paulo, explained that the choice followed a period of reflection started last year.
In a published video, Zelda emphasized that the process was handled calmly. "It was all very matured, very thought out, very negotiated. It's a light, peaceful exit, with a lot of love in my heart," she stated. She expressed thanks to the audience: "I thank you all so much for welcoming me into your homes over these three decades, for placing trust and affection in my performance."
The journalist views the moment as the end of a cycle. "Finally, it's a cycle that closes. We'll see what the future holds, but for now, look… my plan is to rest," she said. Her plans involve slowing down, prioritizing accumulated personal matters, and staying connected with followers via social media. "I'm going to take a good rest now. I'll take care of those issues that were always piled up, in the background, and that suddenly gain another type of urgency," she added.
