Former Haas team principal Guenther Steiner has dismissed speculation that Max Verstappen could join Mercedes alongside Kimi Antonelli.
Steiner made the comments on The Red Flags Podcast while addressing rumours that Verstappen might replace George Russell at Mercedes.
He argued that team principal Toto Wolff would not create internal competition by signing the current champion. Steiner said Wolff already has the sport's biggest future talent in Antonelli.
Mercedes has won every Grand Prix in the 2026 season so far, with Antonelli securing five consecutive victories. Wolff had already rejected the speculation in a March interview, confirming long-term contracts for both current drivers.
