The world number one needed just 65 minutes to dispatch the Australian and improve his head-to-head record against Popyrin to 3-1. Sinner broke serve five times and saved the only break point he faced with an instinctive serve-and-volley play amid windy conditions. He also stretched his streak of consecutive service holds to 45 matches.
