The Argentine coach marks a decade since leading Chile to the Copa América Centenario title in 2016. His career path has been uneven since then and he currently has no team.
On June 26 2016 Juan Antonio Pizzi lifted the Copa América Centenario trophy after defeating Argentina on penalties. Chile had taken charge of the team on January 29 that year and secured the continental bicampeonato despite an irregular start.
Pizzi managed 32 matches with Chile recording 18 wins five draws and nine losses. The cycle included runner-up finish at the 2017 Confederations Cup and elimination from 2018 World Cup qualifying.
After leaving La Roja the coach moved through national teams of Saudi Arabia Bahrain and Kuwait plus clubs including San Lorenzo Racing and Al-Wasl. He has remained without a team since mid-2025 at age 58.
