Judge Pedraz opens separate probe to trace PSOE payments to Leire Díez

National Court judge Santiago Pedraz has opened a separate economic investigation in the Leire Díez case to examine the origin of PSOE funds directed to the former militant and the lawyers under investigation.

In the ruling, Pedraz authorized the UCO to access data from 81 bank accounts at a dozen entities. Six belong to the PSOE and the rest to Gaspar Zarrías, lawyers Ismael Oliver and Jacobo Teijelo, and four linked companies.

The measure aims to determine whether up to 200,000 euros left Ferraz to finance the network, including transfers exceeding 40,000 euros to Díez via intermediaries, 125,000 to Teijelo and more than 18,000 to Crónica Libre.

Zarrías has appealed the decision. His defense argues that only one of his accounts received funds related to payments to Díez and describes the request as prospective and unfounded.

The investigation is part of the alleged corruption case linked to SEPI and also affects the Koldo case at the National Court.
