Overall ticket sales, including local trains, have reached nearly 3 million tickets.

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) reports that long-distance train (KAJJ) ticket sales during the Christmas and New Year transport period for 2025/2026 reached 2,525,134 tickets as of Thursday, December 25, 2025. This figure represents 91.5 percent of the total capacity of 2,761,048 seats provided for the period from December 18, 2025, to January 4, 2026.

KAI's Vice President of Corporate Communication, Anne Purba, stated that this achievement indicates strong public enthusiasm for train services during year-end holidays. "As of Thursday, December 25, 2025, long-distance train ticket sales recorded 2,525,134 tickets from a capacity of 2,761,048 seats or equivalent to 91.5 percent," Anne said in Jakarta.

Overall, train ticket sales, including local services, have reached 2,948,025 tickets out of a capacity of 3,506,104 seats. This capacity supports public mobility for tourism, family visits, and economic activities during the holidays.

The highest sales routes include Gambir-Yogyakarta with 36,958 passengers, Yogyakarta-Gambir 35,576, Lempuyangan-Pasar Senen 28,637, and Pasar Senen-Lempuyangan 26,332 passengers. Anne explained, "These routes are the primary choices for the public because they connect activity centers, tourist destinations, and areas for homecoming and return trips during the year-end holidays."

For local trains, sales reached 422,891 tickets or 56.8 percent of 745,056 seats as of December 25 at 08:00 WIB. Anne added, “Local train sales have different characteristics because most tickets can only be purchased seven days before departure. Therefore, local train sales figures remain very dynamic and have the potential to continue increasing as the travel dates approach.”

Passenger movement shows an upward trend, from 157,301 passengers on December 18 to a peak of 259,239 on December 24, 2025.
